It was an extremely enjoyable evening. 'The Avengers' will not disappoint those who seek big summer blockbusters and is also smart, funny, and full of the little JW touches that his fans have come to expect. Post-movie conversation over drinks and snacks was informative and interesting as always.
The movie was quite enjoyable, and I also learned a few facts about the mysterious circumstances of Poe's death. It was also fun meeting Jason and some of the other regular T&C members again.
The movie was great .. Better than I expected.. There was a lot of people from other groups and organizations but our group was able to connect in the end
The absolute best!!!! I wanna get Pam Grier's Phone No., is she free? One hot, butt kicking lady. I hope she makes more action movies in the future. I would be the first in line to see it. She is amazing.
The group was fun, the movie entertaining :) A throwback to 1950s horror camp a la 'It Came From Outer Space', mixed with 'Rocky Horror Picture Show' ... I'll never forget Will Keenan jumping down from the balcony at the Calfornia theater, though. That was epic :)
What fun!! The movie was more on the so-so side, but delivered more than I expected (solid cinematography, good jump-out-of-your-seat moments) ... it reminded me a bit of some of the 1950s creep flicks I've seen. Thanks everybody for coming out to this event!
As Stefan pointed out, many of us had very low expectations to begin with, and were quite pleasantly surprised as a result. While this movie will in no way establish DR's credentials as a leading man (he is very bland and lacks any kind of charisma whatsoever), it's competently made and delivers a certain amount of Thrills & Chills.
I had fun. The movie made me jump, which was good, the ending was a bit on the lame side. I had a good time though. Especially afterwards when a few of us got lost in the back halls of the mall trying to find the exit.
Stefan,
I just wanted to say thank you for inviting all of us to attend this amazing event.I really enjoyed myself and met so many wonderful people.I look forward to attending more events with your group.By the way the movie was wonderful and Daniel Radcliffe did a wonderful job proving all of us that there is life after Harry Potter.
The movie was a lot of fun - chock full of all the mindless gore that I was craving. The English dubbing and Danish subtitles added just the right amount of absurdity into an already crazy mix, and the mostly enthusiastic audience made the screening even more enjoyable.
I liked the movie group, but I only like certain types of movies, and movies like "House by the Cemetery" is not for me. I go more for certain types of supernatural or ghost stories, not the gory types this movie represents. I can't wait to see a science fiction movie with this group. Maybe the "Avengers?"
Do you always have to catch the latest scare flick alone because your friends think you are insane to watch this stuff? Do you get strange looks when you start to rave about '2001' or 'House of 1000 corpses'? Are you counting the days until 'The Hobbit' will be finally released?
This is your group :) (... and if your friends don't think you're insane please bring them along ... )
We are a bunch of friendly people with an offbeat taste in films, with emphasis on Horror, SciFi and Fantasy. I hope to see you at our next event!
